Simple Flan

1 cup (128 g)
Granulated white sugar
3
Large eggs, room temperature
1 can (14 fl/oz)
Sweetened condensed milk
1 can (12 fl/oz)
Evaporated milk
1 tbsp (15 ml)
Pure vanilla extract

Instructions

1.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, melt sugar until liquefied and golden in color. Stirring often, do not let it clump.
3.
Carefully pour hot sugar into a 9 inch round glass baking dish, turning the dish to evenly coat the bottom and sides. Set aside to cool.
4.
Add eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract to a blender. Mix over the lowest setting until smooth and incorporated.
5.
Create a warm waterbath to put the 9 inch round glass baking dish in a roasting pan.
6.
Pour egg mixture into cooled caramel lined baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil.
7.
Bake in preheated oven 60 minutes. Let cool completely.
8.
Refridgerate for at least 8 hours.
9.
Carefully loosen flan from sides of plate and invert on serving plate.
