Black Bean Burgers

2 (14 ounce) cans
Black beans, drained & rinsed
1 tbsp (8 ml)
Extra virgin olive oil

Red bell pepper, diced
1/2
Sweet Onion, diced
3
Garlic Cloves, peeled & minced
1 1/2 tsp (9 g)
Ground cumin
1 tsp (6 g)
Chili powder
1/2 tsp (3 g)
Ground garlic powder
1/4 tsp (1.5 g)
Smoked paprika
1/2 cup (170 g)
Bread crumbs, I use Canyon Bakehouse
1/2 cup (170 g)
Feta cheese
2
Eggs
1 tbsp (29 ml)
Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp (28 g)
Ketchup

Instructions

1.
Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
2.
Spread beans evenly onto a lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes until slightly dried out.
3.
Saute olive oil, chopped pepper, onion, and garlic over medium heat until peppers and onions are soft.
4.
Gently blot some of the moisture out. Place in a large bowl or in a food processor with the remaining ingredients.
5.
Stir or pulse everything together, then add the black beans. Mash with a fork or pulse the mixture, leaving some larger chunks of beans.
6.
Form into patties, about 1/3 cup of mixture per.
7.
Place patties on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and bake at 375°F (191°C) for 10 minutes on each side, 20 minutes total.
8.
Serve with your favorite toppings.
